About
Hi visitor, I'm an illustrator and animator currently pursuing a MFA illustration degree at Rhode Island School of Design. I hope you enjoy browsing my artwork :)
As a queer artist, my experiences of marginalization have significantly shaped my creation, driving me to focus on the stories and struggles of minorities in various communities. After earning a degree in Government and International Studies in Hong Kong, I discovered a powerful means of expression through my art, blending my academic knowledge with creative practices.
My approach to art-making usually eschews realistic depictions in favor of creating metaphorical figures that focuses on the interplay between political dynamics and personal experiences. These figures, often vibrant animals fantastical creatures, are important medium to my expression.
My passion for expression extends to moving images, including animation and games set to my poetry and fictions, sometimes accompanied by self-written soundtracks. I am fascinated with themes of chaos, weirdness, anxiety, horror and curiosity, which are reflected in my use of nerve-wracking dense and metallic textures that add a tangible intensity to my work. However, despite my own preference, my artwork spans a variety of mediums and styles, including experimental animated films, videos, and installations with, demonstrating my commitment to exploring the depths of human emotion and political commentary through my art.
Commissions and collaboration are welcome! I'm happy to take challenging subjects and I do not limit myself to certain styles as I believe delivering information for my clients effectively is the priority. I will be excited to work on interesting nonprofit projects with other artists as well! Please feel free to email me!
